The Harvard Islamic Society is a student organization that has been serving the Harvard community since its establishment in 1955. HIS is dedicated to meeting the social and religious needs of the Muslim community at Harvard and to promoting Islamic awareness on campus.
HIS maintains a prayer room and small library in the basement of Canaday Dormitory. We encourage people to pray in congregation at the scheduled times. However, over the summer of 2006, the musalla is being renovated and will temporarily moved to Grays basement. For access to the musalla, email HIS with your 8 digit Harvard ID.
Every Friday, Juma’ah prayer is held at 1:20~2:00 in Lowell Lecture Hall. Over the summer of 2006 Juma’ah prayers will be held in Holden Chapel.
